GRAHAM HARBMAN

About Graham

Graham began his aviation career in the US Navy. After starting in the Beechcraft T-34 Mentor and Bell TH-57 Jet Ranger, he spent most of his time flying helicopters on USS Nimitz (CVN-68) doing anti-submarine warfare and search and rescue.

Notable memories are landing a SH-3H Sea King helicopter aboard USS New Jersey (BB-62), a WWII-era Iowa-class battleship, and flying a brand new HH-60H Seahawk across the country at 500 feet from the Sikorsky plant in Connecticut to San Diego. He was also a helicopter flight instructor and maintenance check pilot.

After a few different careers, Graham is back to flying. He has clocked over 2600 hours over his 14 years in the US Navy and 4 years as a civilian Certified Flight Instructor (CFI).

He is an excellent instructor known for making complex topics easy to understand with familiar illustrations from everyday life. In addition to teaching Ground School, he teaches his own flight students and conducts stage checks for students progressing toward Private Pilot.
